Vote Now! Is it a boy or girl Peanut?

So there’s been some debate going on my personal facebook profile as to if we’re having a girl or a boy, so I thought I would put up a poll for fun!

We are having the Anatomy scan done April 23rd.

There are a lot of different “myths” about finding out the babies sex and I’m right down the middle on most of them.  Here’s one of the sites (which I actually found 5 duplicates of on other sites) that gives a list of things to check for. Please note, I refuse to talk about personal body changes, lol.  http://www.ivillage.com/baby-sex-guess-sex-your-baby/6-a-129199

Here’s some details, take your best shot at guessing.  I have put a G or B or ? if it’s odd or unknown by the following things as they’re supposed to be indicators according to the link above.

G: The Peanut’s heartrate has steadily been 150 bpm
B: I crave pickles, sour stuff, and meat/cheese
?: My pillow faces EAST… not North or South, lol. Have fun with that one.
B: I have had very little morning sickness, aside from chicken.
?: I’m not really showing  yet (not much) so no input on basketball or watermelon
B: I am having headaches
B: Age + Conception month = Even Number

Just For Fun

Random Babblings…

So I have a doc appt on Friday to finally meet with one of the doctors. They have us meet with all the doctors in the office during different appointments so we’re comfortable no matter what with who is on call when labor begins.

I asked the P.A., Abbey, why she couldn’t deliver the baby (because I like her so much)… her response was “Oh honey, you don’t want me to deliver the baby, cuz I’d just bawl the whole time…. I’d be like… Sniff.. sniff.. Here’s your…. WAHHHHHHHHHHHHH.. baby, and then I wouldn’t be able to pass the baby to you because I’d be crying too hard”

She just cracks me up.

4 more weeks and we will be doing the anatomy scan.  My mother swears that Peanut is a boy. So does my husband.  I’m not sure which and I suppose it doesn’t matter to me either way. We have the names already picked out (if it’s a boy, my husband is the Fourth for a namesake so this one would obviously be the Fifth, Version 5.0). If it’s a girl, I’ve had the name picked out since I was 12 and it always stuck. I did do a slight variation change to it though but mums the word on that. When we find out the sex of the baby, I’ll state the name.  Of course, knowing our luck, we’d end up having what happened to my co-worker, who was told they were having a girl, who popped out a boy. Lol…  That just makes me paranoid. If they say it’s a girl, do I trust it? :)

I’m really anxious though for the scan. Fingers crossed they get a good shot!

Entering the Realm of… Baby Poo!

I’m going to be a mommy!

I have been a little quiet on my blog lately, because it’s been very difficult to write posts when all I want to do is scream “HECK YEAH, I’M FINALLY PREGNANT!!” from the roof tops for the last 3 months.

It’s been a long wait for this to finally happen and we are beside ourselves in excitement. So many things to do, so many decisions, so many conversations I need to have yet with my sister-in-law (CrunchyBeachMama) on diapers and making baby food.

My in-laws looked at me a little funny when I told them we’re going with cloth diapers.  They didn’t get it really from the environmental stand point, but when I said “Okay, so I can spend about 250 bucks on cloth diapers for the entire diapering life, or I can spend what, 250.00 in a couple months?  Thousands over the whole time?” THEN they were cool with it. HA!

I have to wonder what life is going to be like for our little one. Growing up on a small ranch, mom and dad always involved in some construction project, raised around horses and chickens and well, probably a goat or two eventually.  Plus, he/she will have total nerds for parents.

Well, one thing will be for sure, they’ll know how to sling a hammer, turn a wrench, how to treat animals and will probably know how to build a computer server from the ground up and how to configure it by the time their six. HA!

Growing up in Dad’s observatory looking at the stars, or going out to Granite Gap for camping and viewing the stars away from the light pollution, learning geological processes from mom and rock hounding, investigating minerals and rock formations and earth processes.

Yeah, our poor kid is gonna be a such a nerd. So we also have to investigate more social settings too.

So much to do. So that’s my news!

The Chickies in their new home

Okay, so it’s not painted yet, but I really needed to get these guys into their chicken coop because as you will see in the pictures below, they have gotten BIG and were about to run out of room in the chicky bunker. We got the roof done really late, so I don’t have pictures of the completed roof with ondura shingles. I’ll take those when I get done painting.

So, the next steps- Fencing, Painting, Cutting a chicken size exit door once the fence is up.

Painting it is probably going to be my favorite part. It’s where I can get creative and make it look really cute. Pics will be coming soon!

weather sealing before egg-hutch lid goes on

Bedding for comfort, back area will be divided for roosting but right now is just area for food/water, easy access

Chickies in their new home, headed straight for food of course, see how big they've gotten?!

Lots more room for the chickies!
