Crows feet? No, not wrinkles….
While collecting eggs today, I noticed my horse was staring into the water trough. Just staring, not drinking, just staring. Then she looked back at me, and then looked back into the trough, then back at me. I’ve never seen a horse look so perplexed before but she seriously had a look on her face like “Something weird is happening over here”….
I thought maybe her water bin was empty, so I peered into it and inside is sitting a giant crow, in the water…. WTF?!
I reached my hand through the fence to see if I could shoo him off. He didn’t move, just looked at me like “Lady, I’d fly away if I could… ”
Thankfully Neo was on the other side of the field (he’s my “jackass” horse whom I’m very leery of approaching while carrying Lilly in my tummy, so scared he’ll freak out and kick or something) but he was safely way down by the other side.
So without a single issue or fuss from the bird, he let me grab him and put him on the ground… and then he flopped onto his side and just stared at me. Hrmmmmm.
I picked him back up so I could get him out of the field so he wasn’t trampled, and as soon as I got to the other side of the gate, he started fluttering, flew out of my hands and landed to the ground. Then he proceeded to just start hopping his way as fast as he could away from me.
I have no idea if his wings are okay or not, he did try to fly, I think he was just soaking wet and too waterlogged to fly (I hope anyway)
Hoping that he dries off and goes on his merry way before one of the barn cats finds him.
Sometimes you just come across weird things. At least I got him out before he drowned.
